Ashwani Jain 205x300 AAPI Roundtable Lunch Series: Ashwani Jain

Ashwani Jain

Ashwani Jain serves as the Deputy White House Liaison at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. In this role, he represents the White House at the federal agency, and supports the Secretary and Deputy Secretary’s management of HUD by managing the political relationships of their political appointees.

Prior to this role, Mr. Jain worked at the White House in the Presidential Personnel Office. In this role, he was responsible for representing the White House in politically sensitive engagement with constituency, community, and political leaders from across the country in our efforts to recruit and appoint more qualified, diverse, and unconventional candidates to positions across the Executive agencies.

A first generation child of immigrants, Mr. Jain graduated from the University of Maryland in 2012 after receiving a double degree in Business Management and Political Science. He’s continually worked in numerous volunteer and staff roles for both of President Obama’s campaigns and OFA since February 2007, while also working alongside his parents in their family-owned jewelry business. A survivor of childhood cancer, Mr. Jain serves his community by performing charity magic shows for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
