CAPAL Summer Internship Position Description
The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL), a national non-profit organization consisting of a 18 member Board of Directors and Advisory Council announces a paid Summer Internship position supporting the Program Manager and Board Chair. During the summer internship, the selected individual can expect to network and work on innovative initiatives that benefit young professionals and students wishing to engage in public service within the Washington, DC Metro area and beyond. The CAPAL intern will report to the Program Manager and Board Chair and work with the Public Service Fellow.
This is a great opportunity for an individual to learn the inner workings of a nonprofit and be part of a diverse group of young professionals committed to DC’s Asian Pacific American (Asian American and Pacific Islander, AAPI) community. We strongly believe in professional development and will support as many opportunities as possible during the internship. The intern will have opportunities to create and pursue projects of their interests as well.
- Support the execution of administrative duties including, but not limited to, content management on Google Drive, updating the Salesforce database and maintaining office operations.
- Support fundraising activities through grant-writing, prospect research, maintaining donor information and soliciting in-kind donations.
- Assist in executing logistics for CAPAL events such as the Washington Leadership Program series, professional development events and CAPAL scholar and intern events.
- Assist with communication activities such as blog posts, social media, monthly newsletters, alumni interviews and outreach.
The internship will be 8 weeks long and a $3,500 stipend will be provided. Start date is flexible, but no later than June 15. Position open until filled.
