Keynote Speaker: The Honorable Samuel Tinsing Mok

Samuel Tinsing Mok is the Managing Member of Condor International Advisors, LLC, a Washington DC based management consulting firm. Condor International Advisors specializes in representing American companies and international clients doing business in the American federal market.

He served as the Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Department of Labor from January 2001 to May 2007. Mr. Mok was confirmed by the United States Senate in January 2002 after being nominated to the position by President George W. Bush. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Comptroller of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, appointed by former Treasury Secretary James Baker. Mr. Mok is one of the highestranking Asian Americans in George W. Bush Administration and is regarded as a leader of the Chinese-American community.

Mr. Mok and his wife, Nancy, reside in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. They are the proud parents of two grown children, both attorneys, and six grandchildren.

Mistress of Ceremonies: Kathy Park

Kathy Park is an Emmy nominated anchor and reporter for ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8. A first generation Korean American, she grew up in Silver Spring and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland.

Her career in journalism started as a reporter for Capital News Service while she was an undergraduate student. She went on to intern for Hardball with Chris Matthews on MSNBC, the DIY Network and NBC4. After which Kathy found her way in the newsroom at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix as a Meredith-Cronkite fellow.

She came back to Virgina with the NBC affiliate in Bristol, Virginia. As a beat reporter in SW Va she covered it all from tornadoes to Nascar events at Bristol Motor Speedway. Now, Kathy is back in the nation’s capital and here she has had the chance to cover several major news stories, such as the historic Inauguration of Barack Obama, the DC Metro disaster, and the paralyzing blizzard of 2010 which earned her an Emmy nomination.

You can find Kathy in and around your community as she serves as the DC-chapter president of the Asian American Journalists Association.
