Sign up to be a Volunteer
CAPAL is looking for volunteers to assist with our summer programming such as the Washington Leadership Program. Volunteering with CAPAL is a great way to get to know the board and the organization better. If you are interested in volunteering please e-mail info@capal.org.
Become a CAPAL Campus Ambassador
Are you a student who participated in CAPAL’s Washington Leadership Program? What better way to stay involved in APA issues and help raise awareness about public sector jobs within the APA community than to become a CAPAL Campus Ambassador?
Once you sign up as a campus ambassador, we will provide you the resources to tell your fellow classmates and peers about your experience with the Washington Leadership Program and CAPAL so that more APAs can be aware of the far-reaching opportunities available for students interested in pursuing public service jobs.
Become a Mentor-For-The-Future Mentorship Program
Every summer, hundreds of bright and motivated students participate in the Washington Leadership Program (WLP), a weekly series of educational and leadership development seminars that focus on issues of interest to the APA community.
If you are a professional with experience working in the public sector, you can help a college student this summer take his or her first step in pursuing a successful career in public service. Our mentorship program will not only allow you to develop meaningful relationships with WLP participants, it will open you to a huge network of professionals who have a similar vision for helping APAs succeed in the public sector.
Apply for the Board of Directors
At the end of each year, CAPAL accepts applications from candidates interested in joining the Board of Directors.
Board members promote CAPAL’s mission and purpose by contributing to its programs and services, strengthening its infrastructure and internal capacity, and participating in fundraising and recruitment efforts.
All board members are expected to attend monthly CAPAL Board Meetings and actively participate in one or more assigned committees and task forces. We ask that all candidates commit to serving a full two-year term (must be based in the DC metro area).
Contact us at info@capal.org if you would like to contribute to CAPAL through any of the ways above.
