In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, CAPAL hosted the Asian Pacific American Heritage Ball which showcased the tremendous contributions of APA public service leaders and to inspire the next generation. With special guests including Harold Koh, Legal Advisor of the U.S. Department of State, and Howard Koh, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, the cocktail reception honored past and present Asian Pacific American public service leaders, government appointees, and elected officials. To many job seekers, a security clearance often means access to exciting careers and competitive salaries. However, procuring one often feels like a mystical and inaccessible process. On April 12, CAPAL and The Sejong Society hosted an informative discussion with speakers from the CIA, National Security Agency, and KeyPoint Government Solutions to learn about the security clearance process.

Meet & greet with the CAPAL Board of Directors
Janet Liang was a UCLA student in 2009 when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Since then, she has mobilized thousands of Asian Americans across the country to register as a bone marrow donor. CAPAL joined the cause by hosting a happy hour on her behalf and successfully registered more than 40 individuals into the national bone marrow registry.
