The purpose of this event is to raise and increase support for CAPAL in the areas of awareness\, capital\, and partnerships. The Pie Smash is CAPAL’s major promotional event during the Giving Tuesday campaign. This is a lighthearted event designed to incentivize donors to give by attaching a dollar amount ($100) to each pie. If a Board Member is able to reach that amount\, they can designate someone (e.g.\, the donor who helped them reach that amount) to smash a pie in their face. Leading up to the event and during\, the Board Members will raise money from their networks\, and can use the event as an incentive or a follow-up.  You can donate to our individual Board members through our Giving Tuesday official donation website and donate to our organization as a whole through our Facebook fundraising page. \nThis year\, our Giving Tuesday theme #CAPALNEXT30 highlights the decades of CAPAL’s dedication to its mission. It allows us to look at how CAPAL will envision itself for the next 30 years while acclaiming the services it has provided\, through the growth of the #AANHPI community in the public service sector.  CAPAL will dedicate to its mission more as we look forward for the next 30 years to all the opportunities as we have given the AANHPI. \nPlease note that the four Board members (Cathy Yu\, Liz Zung\, Keith Preciados\, and Will Lam) will not be pie smashed\, though they will take any donations.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nSome photos from last year’s event!\n[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”15518\,15519\,15520″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nCan’t make the event? DESCRIPTION:Over the course of 30 years\, CAPAL has developed an extensive alumni base and professional network of AANHPI leaders in public service. What began as a small group of friends in Washington\, DC has expanded to groups of alumni based in states and countries throughout the world. CAPAL hopes to better engage with its alums outside of the DMV\, creating a professional support and mentorship network that Scholars & Interns and future AANHPI young professionals can access. Light food will be provided along with the opportunity to reconnect with or meet the CAPAL community in your area. \n\n
