SUMMARY:2019 Resume Writing and Interview Workshop
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nHear from experienced professionals in the government\, private and nonprofit sectors on how best to present your experience on a resume and in an interview. The workshop will include presentations and break-out time for participants to have their resumes reviewed by professionals and practice interview skills. The event is FREE and open to the public. Dinner is provided. \nThe workshop is in preparation for Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL)’s AANHPI Networking and Career Fair held on Friday\, July 19\, 11-2pm. \nSpeakers\nEllen Law retired from U.S. Department of Defense after more than 20 years as a Senior Policy Analyst with the Chief Information Officer.  She has worked in the private sector at Fortune 50 companies\, and as an editor for a newspaper with a circulation of 250\,000. In parallel\, for more than 25 years\, she has been editor and writer of books and articles\, and a consultant on writing successful resumes\, ECQs\, and curricula vitae.  She has been an Arlington County Schools lecturer on applying for Federal government jobs for 7 years\, and a frequent speaker at conferences and job fairs to give advice on resumes and government job applications for nearly 15 years. \n\n  \n  \n  \nThe Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) seeks to empower Asian American\, Native Hawaiian\, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline.
