It is imperative for our voices to be at the decision-making table in order for our communities to receive the necessary resources and support to achieve an equitable society. Full participation and representation at all levels of government is more urgent than ever before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>More than 30 years ago, the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) was founded with a mission to empower Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander youth<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline. <\/span>Today, we have served over 600 emerging leaders<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by providing scholarships for students to pursue public service opportunities and life-changing holistic leadership development.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-16791 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Heo_Sora-Headshot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"491\" height=\"491\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Heo_Sora-Headshot.jpg 853w, https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Heo_Sora-Headshot-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Heo_Sora-Headshot-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Heo_Sora-Headshot-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 491px) 100vw, 491px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My experience as a CAPAL Scholar played a pivotal role in helping me realize my goals for the future. Significantly, CAPAL offered meaningful, insightful programming throughout the summer.
