What are some of your big projects?\u00a0(this can include projects at your internship, your specific CAP project, etc.)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This summer I will be working the Department of Interior in Washington D.C. Through my position,\u00a0 I will be responsible for assisting the FAPAC-DOI executive board members on a wide range of AANHPI issues and priorities, including supporting the chapter through member outreach, website support, and suggesting ways to improve; promoting civil rights, conducting AANHPI research and data disaggregation, economic development, education, health, immigration, language access, and workforce diversity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My Community Action Project works with the Climate Initiative to conduct research on the feelings and perceptions of youth on the climate crisis. Working at the Department of Interior gives me great exposure to different career opportunities in this field and allows me to build meaningful and long lasting connections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you hope to achieve this summer as a part of CAPAL\u2019s 2022 cohort?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through the CAPAL programming, I hope to gain experience in the public service field and learn more about professionalism and the AANHPI community. I would love to be able to transfer this knowledge to my community at home, my school, and in my future career. What sparked your interest or desire to get involved with public service?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In my eyes, public service is about helping those who are unable to advocate for themselves. Many times, the people who are most affected by policy are the ones who have the least say. I want to make sure that policy in the United States is truly representative of the population, and works towards and equitable and ethical society.
