Her work includes litigation to protect drinking water, restrict the use of toxic chemicals in consumer products, and improve pesticide regulation. She currently is lead counsel in a case brought on behalf of residents of Flint, Michigan, seeking removal of the city\u2019s lead service lines and compliance with federal safe drinking laws. Prior to joining NRDC, Ms. Chaudhary clerked for Judge Carol B. Amon for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and worked as a litigation associate at WilmerHale LLP. Ms. Chaudhary holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Harvard University, a master\u2019s degree in urban planning from the London School of Economics, and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Moderator<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"il\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-10420\" src=\"http:\/\/site.capal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Kota-e1498246252303-232x300.jpg\" alt=\"Kota\" width=\"232\" height=\"300\" \/>Kota<\/span> Mizutani is a recent graduate of Brown University and summer intern at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Born to Japanese-natives and raised in Northern California, <span class=\"il\">Kota<\/span> identifies as both Japanese and American. After learning about the Japanese American redress movement at the age of 14, <span class=\"il\">Kota<\/span> became inspired to join the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) and currently serves as the JACL&#8217;s National Youth\/Student Council Chair. <span class=\"il\">Kota<\/span> has\u00a0previously worked at the Korematsu Institute for Civil Rights Education, Congressman Jared Huffman\u2019s office in Washington D.C., White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Each roundtable features one public service leader and accommodates at most 25 attendees. Every roundtable session is free and open to the public, however, due to a limited seating we encourage attendees to register in order to ensure a seat.\u00a0Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) seeks to empower Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline.
