Previously to her current position, Jane served as an EAP Front Office Staff Assistant, a Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, and a Consular Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey, Mexico. Her other past experience includes a fellowship with General Electric and internships with the Social Security Administration and local community service centers. Jane hails from Northern Virginia and earned her BSFS from Georgetown University\u2019s School of Foreign Service and MPA from Columbia University\u2019s School of International and Public Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Moderator<\/h2>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15046 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ashley-headshot.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ashley-headshot.png 200w, https:\/\/www.capal.org\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/ashley-headshot-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>\u00a0Ashley Tjhung<\/strong> is\u00a0the Operations Coordinator\u00a0at the Funders Committee for Civic Participation \u2014\u00a0an innovative and thought-provoking network that shares an underlying conviction that all people deserve a voice in our democratic process.\u00a0She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Public Policy and Intergroup Relations. While on campus, Ashley served as Managing Editor of Michigan in Color, the section of\u00a0<i>The Michigan Daily<\/i>\u00a0by and for students of color, where her work on racial justice earned her the University of Michigan\u2019s Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award. A passionate supporter of AANHPI causes, Ashley was a CAPAL Scholar in 2018. Each roundtable features one public service leader and accommodates at most 25 attendees. Every roundtable session is free and open to the public, however, due to a limited seating we encourage attendees to register in order to ensure a seat.\u00a0Lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) seeks to empower Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline.
