2024 Roundtable Series: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

The AANHPI Roundtable Series provides an opportunity for students and young professionals to learn from public service leaders in our community in a conversational setting for one hour. Each roundtable features public service leaders from one organization and accommodates 25-30 attendees. This year, CAPAL is launching a series of monthly Roundtable discussions. These events will be held on a virtual platform. Registration is FREE for all attendees.

This session will feature the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation with Tina Hsu and Justin Huynh.

Speakers

Tina Hsu | Senior Counsel Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

Tina Hsu is Senior Counsel at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and leads the Legal Information Technology Unit, which is responsible for supporting, guiding, and advocating for FDIC legal staff nationwide with regard to e-discovery and information technology matters.  During her tenure with the FDIC, she has also served as Acting Supervisory Counsel for the Enforcement Section and as Counsel with the Professional Liability Unit, which pursues investigations of, and litigation against, fiduciaries of failed banks.  Tina has 28 years of complex litigation experience, including as Shareholder with Shulman Rogers, P.A., Of Counsel with Gilbert LLP, and Senior Litigation Associate with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.  She lives in the DC area with her husband and three children, and in her spare time enjoys food, travel, and rock climbing.

 

Justin Huynh | Field Supervisor & Corporate Recruiter, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

Justin Huynh is the Field Supervisor for the San Francisco Territory of the FDIC’s Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP).  Mr. Huynh is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Division’s compliance examination program within Northern California and Nevada.  Prior to his current position, he served as Supervisory Examiner and Compliance Examiner in the San Francisco Territory and as a Risk Management Examiner in the Minneapolis Field Office.  Mr. Huynh has been with the corporation since 1998, and brings a wealth of experience on complex consumer protection and risk management issues. Mr. Huynh is a member of the DCP Workplace Excellence Council, and an experience Corporate Recruiter.

Mr. Huynh earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from University of San Francisco in San Francisco, California, and a M.B.A. in Finance from California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California.
