2018 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Reception
May 14, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Teach For America’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Alliances, the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership, and Leadership for Educational Equity are pleased to co-host the 2018 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) Reception, bringing together members of the AANHPI community in Washington, DC to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and the accomplishments of our community to date. The APAHM reception will include a short program recognizing the Month and our partners and sponsors that make this possible. The APAHM Reception takes place right before the start of CAPAL’s summer programming, and will thus provide a brief overview of our Washington Leadership Program (WLP), AANHPI Roundtable Series, and Public Service Scholarship and Internship Program taking place this summer. The reception is open to all members of the DC community, but advance registration is required. Refreshments will be served. Dress is business professional.
The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) seeks to empower Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth by increasing access to public service opportunities and building a strong AANHPI public service pipeline. We envisions a future with equitable AANHPI representation throughout all levels of government and public service.
